Suicidal thoughts
Depression creates an overwhelming feeling of hopelessness and lethargy. It is very difficult to see a way forward and to think of the future. I can help you work on a recovery plan and support you along the way.
Stress
Stress is part of everyday life but too much stress can put your health at risk and leave you unable to function. If you are experiencing stress and you are unable to switch off then counselling can help. I can work with you to identify your particular triggers for stress. We can establish realistic targets and expectations based on your current life situation.
Low Self Esteem/Confidence/Assertiveness
Our self esteem is how we see ourselves and how we value ourselves. It develops from our experiences and relationships from birth to the present day. No single event or person determines your level of self esteem, it is the result of all of the voices we have ever listened to and our acceptance of opinions expressed by people we trusted. Low self esteem can result in you feeling worthless and unlovable and not deserving of happiness.
The journey to improve your self esteem, confidence and assertiveness involves acceptance of yourself as the person you are and the help, praise encouragement and support of a counsellor such as myself.
